NJHS Timeline

Step 1: Achieve 3.5 GPA - due February 16

All students will have to earn a 3.5+ GPA for 8th grade year

  • Eligibility update will be sent via email after Semester 1.
  • The essay topic will be released ONLY to the students who are eligible.
  • The final email update will take place after Quarter 3.

Step 2: Behavior score of 1 or 2 - ongoing

All 1’s and 2’s for behavior (any behavior points outside of this range will not be accepted).

Step 3: Service as Action From Completed

Complete the Service As Action form

Volunteer Examples and opportunities 

Step 4: Draft a 500 word essay

The essay topic will be released ONLY to the students who have an eligible GPA.

Step 5: Consider attending NJHS ceremony

There will also be a rehearsal ceremony during school– accompanied with volunteer opportunities that will be announced prior to the ceremony.
