Timeline

Step 1: Achieve 3.5 GPA

All students will have to earn a 3.5+ GPA for 8th grade year

  • Eligibility update will be sent via email after Semester 1.
  • The essay topic will be released ONLY to the students who are eligible.
  • The final email update will take place after Quarter 3.

Step 2: Behavior & Effort

On the report card, students must achieve behavior scores of 1 or 2 (any behavior points outside of this range will not be accepted) and effort scores of "J -Invested above and beyond classroom expectations" or "K-Consistently invested in class."

Step 3: Service as Action Form Completed - due May 1

Step 4: 500 Word Essay Completed - due May 8

The essay topic will be released ONLY to the students who have an eligible GPA.

Step 5: Consider attending NJHS Ceremony on June 2

There will also be a rehearsal ceremony during school– accompanied with volunteer opportunities that will be announced prior to the ceremony.
